Several women claimed to have been Anastasia the mostfamous person who claimed to have been Anastasia was an Anna Anderson, in Berlin in 1920. Many people found her story very believable, including other members of the Russian royal family. Anna Anderson or Anastasia, ifyou believed her died in the United States in 1984.Teaching Suggestions Pre-listening: Ask Who are these people? (the Russian royal family) Elicit from the class any information that they know about the Russian royal family. Have students read the title, look at the map and photos, and read the captions. First listening: Have students listen for information about what happened to the royal family and why it is a mystery. Then have students discuss in pairs.
